Product Description

From the typical harsh and poverty-stricken rural Papua New Guinea life to the prestigious Yale University in the United States and other colourful successes is the story of Pole John Kale of Main Tribe in Gumine District, Simbu Province.

Pole is the last and the dream child of ageing couple Thomas Kale and Monita Nirua in a family of two girls and one boy. Despite being lowly and too old, Thomas Kale's dream is to see his only son get educated and lived an affluent modern life.

With the support of his family including young Pole, Thomas sells firewood at Gumine government district centre to finance Pole's education. For this, Thomas and his son are branded as "Woodsellers" by his tribe's men and the name becomes the invincible impetus behind Pole's success in education and professional life.
