The On-the-Job Training Programme (OJT) bridges the gap between theoretical learning and practical experience. It gives students hands-on experience in their chosen field, under the supervision of seasoned professionals. The OJT also helps students develop essential skills and qualities, such as teamwork, problem-solving, and communication.
In July, we welcomed five graphic arts students from the Port Moresby Technical College to our Printing Solutions Team for the OJT program. The students completed eight weeks of training, during which they gained skills and knowledge in a variety of areas, including printing, graphic design, and customer service.
Last Friday, our Printing team hosted an in-house gathering to commemorate the students' achievements. At the event, Mr. Joven Havana, Theodist's Printing Solutions Manager, presented certificates of competency to the students in recognition of their dedication and outstanding contributions.
Earlier this year, we also extended our OJT program to thirteen students from two other schools in the National Capital District (NCD). The first group of six students from Don Bosco Technical Institute received training in Theodist's Printing Solutions and ICT Department, while the second group of seven students from the IEA College of TAFE gained experience in the Human Resources, Administration, and Procurement Department.
